Department of Medical Rehabilitation

The medical rehabilitation services were started first with inception of Institute in 1978. The department started its services through OPD and IPD (Disabled Hostel, in the beginning). The
surgical services were also introduced in eighties. During the year the department coordinated with other departments for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the persons with disabilities. The
medical assessment, medical/surgical intervention, prescription of therapeutic intervention, rehabilitation aids/appliances, socioeconomic rehabilitation and referrals were provided through
regular Outdoor, Indoor, and Outreach Camps. During the year 17055 new cases and 12146 old cases assessed in the OPD of the Institute which was very less compared to previous year because of prevalence of covid-19 pandemic.
