RC Aizawl

NILD Regional Center, Aizawl was established by M.S.J.&E. Govt. of India in the year of 2004 in a temporary accommodation in the premises of State Council of Education Research and Training,
Chaltlang, Aizawl to meet the objectives of NILD, Kolkata. NERCAizawl provides comprehensive rehabilitation services through team approach, consisting of experts from medical, occupational
therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy & audiology, professionals in the area of ID, P&O and special education to the needy ones in N-E Region, Mizoram in particular. Total 501 individuals benefitted through the OPD services of the centre out of which 176 were new and 325 were old patients. Center rendered 871 supporting services to these patients. 82 aids and appliances were distributed to persons with disabilities under ADIP scheme through the centre and camp. During the year, Institute conducted 04 outreach camps. To overcome the shortage of trained manpower in the NE Region and to sensitize people, NERC-Aizawl trained 415 persons through 9 short term training programs in the year 2020-21
