    OPD

    The comprehensive rehabilitation services were provided to the persons with locomotor disabilities through outpatient and inpatient departments of the Institute. The patients attending OPD were from different parts of the country, predominantly from eastern region, namely from the state of West Bengal, Bihar, North Eastern States and occasionally from neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan.
    In OPD, detailed rehabilitation services were planned after a thorough individual’s assessment by a team of professionals consisting of physiatrist/orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, prosthetist & orthotist and other rehabilitation professionals from the department of SER.
    The facilities of indoor admission, diagnostics and re-constructive /rehabilitative surgery were also available in the Institute mainly for cerebral palsy, congenital limb deficiencies/deformities, amputees, spinal deformities, auto-immune disorders, spastics, neuromuscular disorder, degenerative conditions leading to locomotor problems and post-polio residual paralysis patients etc. The surgical corrections were also performed through the major or minor surgeries.
